Clothing Faves
After three pregnancies, I’ve been a great guinea pig for all-things maternity. Clothing, beauty products, supplements- you name it! I do feel that I’ve finally found what works for me this time around. I don’t love spending tons of money on Maternity clothes that will only be worn a handful of times, so I try to invest in quality pieces that will carry me through pregnancy and also afterwards. I’ve rounded up some of my all-time, tried and true faves and also some new-to-me finds! I hope my list is helpful- drop a comment to share your must-haves, I’d love to check them out!
Hatch “The Perfect Vee” T-shirt: If you only buy two maternity clothing items your entire pregnancy, please let them be this Hatch t-shirt and a pair of Lululemon align leggings. This tee shirt has magical properties. The fabric feels cool to the touch, and at 7 months pregnant heading into July, that feels like heaven. It’s super flattering and goes with everything. I like to wear it with leggings, maternity jeans, bike shorts or joggers. It also looks cute under a denim jacket or button-down shirt. This tee is a bit of a splurge, but you can wear it even after your baby is born – it’s the perfect postpartum shirt (night sweats anyone?!) and it’s also perfect for nursing!
Lululemon Align Leggings and Shorts: These have been a staple for me through all three of my pregnancies and all the time in-between. They are magical and stretch to fit you no matter what size you are. I wore these to the hospital when I had Charlotte and I also wore them home. C-section recovery friendly! the comfiest, most amazing leggings on Earth! I recently picked up the shorts and they are equally as amazing – and perfect for this hot weather! My favorite are the super high rise in both, but the high-rise are awesome, too, and there’s usually more sizes available. These are non-maternity, but I still grab my regular size (an 8) and they fit perfectly. I also have a size 6 and a size 4 and they fit me, too, but the 8 is the comfiest for me.
Beyond Yoga Spacedye Bases Covered Maternity Tank: I love this for working out and for lounging around. It’s the only top with a built-in bra that actually does what it’s supposed to do for me. The material is so soft and I just love it so much!
Belly Bandit Thighs Disguise Shorts: When I tell my friends about these, they all say “oh my god I could never wear Spanx while pregnant”. Trust me- I definitely couldn’t either!! These are not like Spanx!! These are so comfortable to wear under form-fitting dresses that show off your bump! They feel like super-comfy bike shorts that stop the dreaded thighs-rubbing-together problem, smooth out any lumps and bumps and you won’t have any visible panty lines under those tight dresses. These have also been a staple through all three pregnancies- and the same pair has held up for me through all of it!
Shoes
Birkenstock Sandals: Comfy, go-with-everything, supportive sandals that are kind to aching, swollen pregnant feet. I’m SO grateful these are back in style now!
Hoka running shoes: Like walking on clouds! Highly recommend for working out, walks, and errands. Sometimes I wear them around my house when my feet are really hurting and they totally help me get through the rest of the day!
Beauty + Wellness
Weleda Belly Oil: I’ve used this through all three of my pregnancies! It smells amazing and has really helped me keep stretch marks at bay. It’s also clean, which is important during pregnancy since your skin absorbs ingredients and they can affect baby. I apply it nightly after my shower to my belly, boobs, butt and thighs. I swear by it!
8 Sheep Organics Sleepy Body Lotion: This is another new-to-me product and now I can’t live without it! I have been getting really bad leg cramps at night, and this is the only stuff that helps. It’s infused with magnesium, essential oils and is organic and made with clean ingredients. I think of it as my pregnancy-safe CBD oil. It’s relaxing and it helps me sleep! It has a very relaxing scent a soothes sore muscles. It’s really a do-it-all miracle balm and worth every penny.
Luminuex Teeth Whitening Strips: These have clean, safe ingredients and actually whiten your teeth!
*Beli Prenatals: These are new to me this pregnancy. I loved my Thorne prenatals, but these had the same great ingredients plus some more and also contain folate, not folic acid, which I need due to my MTHFR genetic mutation. They have a minty smell + flavor and are easy to take. They have never upset my stomach, but I do always make sure I take them with food. They even have vitamins for men when you are TTC!
You can get 15% off of Beli Prenatals by using my code KELSEY15.
*Prenatal Probiotics: Pregnancy can make digestion weird, and I swear these help. They’re formulated for pregnancy safe and help keep things “regular” and “normal” if you get my drift.
*Prenatal DHA: I’ve taken this throughout all three pregnancies and in-between them, while nursing, too. They are recommended by my doctor and are good for the baby’s brain development.
*If you want to try any of the supplements I take, be sure to check with your doctor first! Every pregnancy is different, so it’s better to play it safe!
Misc.
Snuggle Pedic Body Pillow: I got rid of my pregnancy pillow when we moved, and to be honest- as comfy as it was, it was so heavy and awkward to move around and hard to wash. It also made making the bed nearly impossible. This time around, I gave this body pillow a try and love it! You’ll want to snag the pillowcase, too. To make my bed, I just stack it up in front of the regular pillows, behind the decorative pillows and you can’t even tell it’s there! It’s also super comfy and I can’t imagine sleeping without it right now!
